Robert Half are exclusively recruiting an Assistant Financial Accountant, based in Pontypool. This position is on a hybrid working basis, you will be expected to attend the office 1 or 2 days a week.

You will be part of a team of fifteen finance professionals who are responsible for assisting with the delivery of the following on a daily basis:

  • Month end close & month end related journals
  • Accruals & prepayments calculations and journals
  • Vendor and expenses related journals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations (debtors, creditors, banks, accruals, prepayments, provisions)
  • Bad debt provisions
  • Preparation of various internal and external reports
  • Various compliance activities
  • Ad hoc tasks, as required

Tasks undertaken will vary from time to time to ensure the whole team experiences a broader range of activities and that there is adequate cross-training within the team.

Your Profile:

  • Experience of working within a Finance team
  • Excellent IT Skills including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility when faced with changing customer requirement
  • An ability (and attitude) to learn and develop new skills
  • Experience of working to (and meeting) strict deadline
  • An Accounting or Finance degree / AAT qualification would be desirable

Salary:

£26,000 - £29,000 + study support & benefits
