Role: Paint TechnicianLocation: PontypoolSalary: £35,000 + 15% Shift AllowanceShifts: 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 on alternating weeksPertemps are recruiting for a skilled automotive paint Technician on behalf of our client who are looking to add to their operations and logistics team on a permanent basis. The role will include using HVLP Equipment ensuring all parts meet industry safety and quality standards.As a Paint Technician, you'll be responsible for:
  • Preparing, painting, and refinishing commercial parts using HVLP equipment.
  • Applying advanced techniques like "wet-on-wet" to produce exceptional finishes.
  • Mixing and matching paint to exact specifications.
  • Inspecting and addressing defects to ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Operating low-bake ovens and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI qualification in automotive refinishing (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in paint application techniques and drying/curing processes.
  • Experience in using proper PPE and working within safety regulations.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and quality-focused mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience working with a range of materials.
