Cloud Infrastructure Manager

In this role, you will lead an experienced group responsible for supporting and securing our existing cloud infrastructure, platforms, and customer systems. You will also have the opportunity to design, implement, and take ownership of new solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact support for our products and services.
You will play a key role in shaping our operational vision and delivering comprehensive technical solutions to customers across a diverse service portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and integrate Cloud Infrastructure Support and Platform team activities to align workstreams, enhance collaboration, and drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within our DevOps environment.
  • Oversee the technical operations of live infrastructure across product streams, ensuring seamless delivery and support of key systems.
  • Drive platform technologies and automation in customer environments, implementing both in-house and third-party solutions.
  • Champion the integration of security processes and tools, managing vulnerabilities, patches, threat risk assessments (TRAs), and ensuring robust security across the portfolio.
  • Facilitate and lead technical discussions with diverse teams, navigating challenging timelines and resource constraints.
  • Manage hosting costs for operational environments and ensure cost-saving initiatives are introduced and maintained.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support, establish SLAs, and ensure adherence to KPIs.
  • Guide and mentor team members, enhancing their technical skills and business acumen.
  • Develop and streamline new processes, creating technical documentation and ensuring team adherence.
  • Promote continuous personal and professional development with a focus on emerging technologies and applications.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:
  • Expert-level experience in managing cloud infrastructure and networks.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services (VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
  • Ability to master complex technical solutions in both legacy and cloud-native environments.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Exposure to DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, IaaS, PaaS, and associated tools (e.g., GitLab, CDK, Terraform).
  • Experience with databases (MySQL/Postgres) and queuing technologies (Kafka/RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ).
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Ability to switch between multiple technical streams and ensure personal and team deadlines are met.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to build relationships, and drive innovative solutions.

Desirable Skills:
  • Relevant certifications or deep expertise in AWS cloud services.
  • Knowledge of scripting for automation and solution delivery.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Intelligent Traffic Control Systems.
  • Understanding of Agile development processes.

This role will require you to be on-site in Poole 1 day a week and a salary of up to 62,000 plus bonus and other benefits.
