Head of IT / IT Director
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Are you an experienced IT leader looking to make a strategic impact in the finance sector? We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Director to join a leading property finance company based in Southern England. Reporting directly to the Board, you will take full ownership of the IT function and play a pivotal role in driving the company’s digital transformation, leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, foster growth, and improve business outcomes.
Head of IT - Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and drive the long-term IT strategy to transform the company into a tech-led leader within the industry. Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement IT solutions that align with business goals.
- Infrastructure & Architecture: Oversee the development and evolution of a scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure. Lead the integration of new technologies, automate processes, and implement best-of-breed applications across the business.
- Data & Cybersecurity Governance: Create and manage an enterprise-wide data architecture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving the implementation of robust cyber security protocols, including ISO 27001 accreditation.
- Team & Resource Management: Lead and mentor a growing IT team, manage external vendors, and ensure the IT function is optimally resourced to meet business needs.
- Collaboration & Change Management: Work closely with department heads to understand their technical requirements, manage change processes, and drive technology adoption across the business.
Head of IT - Key Requirements:
- Industry Experience: Extensive hands-on technical experience in the design and implementation of a modern IT ecosystem, ideally within the SME lending or finance industry.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively with senior management, driving strategic change through clear vision and pragmatic technical solutions.
- AI & Automation Expertise: Practical experience with AI technologies, automation tools (e.g., RPA, low-code), and transforming manual processes into automated workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Data & Infrastructure Knowledge: In-depth understanding of data architecture, governance, cloud infrastructure, and best practices in system design and implementation.
- Change Management: Experience leading complex IT transformations, including the implementation of enterprise applications and integrations, and managing the associated change management processes.
