As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the up front quality planning of customer products, ensuring they comply with requirements, ownership of the NCR Process, coordination of quality improvement initiatives including root cause and corrective action and cross functional improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer role will require a close working relationship with Engineering, Production and Customers to ensure up front quality planning, customer requirements and manufacturing issues are managed in line with QA procedures.

Quality Engineer's key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering to embed quality control requirements with the build documentation.
  • Review customer quality requirements and flow down to applicable departments & documentation
  • Monitor, maintain, & make continuous improvements of manufacturing processes & documentation.
  • Product Inspection & quality sign off.
  • Authorise the release of product to the customer
  • Preparation & sign off for deliverable Manufacturing quality packs.
  • Be part of the non-conformance process.
  • Undertaking of FAIR's to customer requirements or AS9102
  • Monitor and gather production / quality process data for reporting.
  • Auditing of the QMS & associated processes
  • Working to IS09001

Quality Engineer's Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use industry standard inspection measurement equipment.
  • Health and safety training IOSH / NEBOSH
  • 5's / lean training
  • CQI Qualification or similar.
  • Excellent Knowledge with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure in customer driven production environment.
  • Experience of root cause corrective actions process.
  • Excellent people skills and technical know-how.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
