Accounts Assistant Job In Poole

Our well-established client in the Poole area is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team. The Accounts Assistant will support Finance Manager by processing and posting account data, all aspects of payroll and pensions. The successful candidate will deal with any day-to-day enquiries to ensure smooth and efficient running of Accounts Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter payroll onto the Sage system with any deductions, overtime, sick pay, holiday pay and any other salary related information
  • Monitor hours worked by staff and make amendments as required
  • Monitor, maintain, post onto spreadsheet and make payments for holidays for all permanent staff
  • Keep account of hours for zero staff
  • Keep up to date records of salaries and pay and adjust accordingly
  • After approval from Finance Manager, post payments to Bank
  • Run report for Inland Revenue and prepare relevant payments
  • Update, run and submit FPS and EPS for maternity pay for the Inland Revenue
  • Issue P60’s and run end of year on payroll
  • Deal with any pay related queries from staff
  • Reconcile bank payments to suppliers
  • Submit report for payments to suppliers
  • Post payments to suppliers and post adhoc payments as and when necessary
  • Assist with Cashing up when required
  • Balance end of day takings and run report
  • Enrol pensions as and when necessary and enter all information onto Nest
  • Collect contributions and pay to Pension Fund.

Minimum Skills and Experience Required:

  • A background working in accounts
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of Excel, and Word
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Sage payroll
  • A team player approach

Salary and Benefits:

  • A salary of up to £29,500 per annum
  • Working Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm
  • Onsite parking available
  • Pension schem
