SYR are working with a brand leading the charge in maritime decarbonisation who are looking to bolster their mechanical engineering team.

With an incredibly broad spectrum of projects, this growing consultancy have been at the forefront of development in the maritime sector developing systems based around foil-assistance, wind power and hybrid/electric technology and are becoming a well known brand in the industry when it comes to building cleaner vessels!

AsMechanical Design Engineeryou'll be joining the mechanical team to work across a host of projects, from small mechanisms to major mechanical systems development.

Duties for the role will include:

- Design and specification of mechanical parts and assemblies from scratch.

- Participation as part of a project team across a host of different projects.

- 3D Design and modelling of mechanical parts and assemblies.

- Use of a range of structural and stress focussed testing such as FEA Analysis.

- Working with external clients to develop projects, making rolling changes as required.

- Overseeing manufacture of parts, assemblies and systems.

- Sea trialling and review of physical testing to refine your designs as required.

The ideal individual for this role will come from a background in complex mechanical engineering in a high-stress environment such as automotive, motorsport, aerospace or similar and be keen to work with a brand where they can make major changes within an industry.

Regularly working as part of a team, you'll be happy to work towards a common project goal and be keen and able to give input throughout all stages of a project.

Degree educated in a mechanical discipline, you'll have excellent CAD skills alongside experience and ability with FEA.

Dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, you'll be a confident individual with a passion for engineering and a desire for career growth and development.
