Your Company:An exceptional opportunity for a Financial Accounting Manager has arisen within a Portsmouth based manufacturing and engineering business. As a business with nearly 100 years of expertise they pride themselves on being able to provide customers a vast array of services including project management, analysis, design engineering, testing thus offering an end-to-end solution.This career defining role will have a technical focus in nature, but the successful candidate will be exposed to a range of financial areas and will support senior finance leadership, alongside gaining excellent team leadership skills of their own, thus creating an exciting opportunity with plenty of growth for the future.Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of transactional finance and accounting professionals, promoting their personal and professional development and ensuring that work set is handled appropriately
  • Managing the group consolidation process and ensure the required level of insight and requisite controls are in place
  • Developing internal accounting systems and process and drive continuous improvements
  • Playing a pivotal role in harmonising accounting process with new acquisitions.
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining an internal financial audit and compliance programme
  • Supporting ongoing financial planning and analysis activities
  • Reporting in to and supporting the Finance Director
What you will need to Apply:The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) who is serious about progressing their career in a fast paced and dynamic business.  Strong communication skills are also a prerequisite as the role requires relationships to be cultivated across the business and in multiple locations to ensure a controlled and well communicated accounting process nationally.  Strong systems skill and a great eye for process would also be helpful as the post holder will be empowered to instigate change across the entire finance function.   What you will get in Return:For the successful candidate, on offer is a starting basic salary of up to £60,000 together with a truly holistic reward package, inclusive of generous holiday and pension, and a range of other perks and incentives.Within the role there is scope for plenty of progression and scope, with the incumbent potentially reaching further levels of senior financial leadership in the coming years.
