Telecoms Project Controller

Morson are currently recruiting for a candidate that has managed project controls or project accounting for a Project Controller working within satellite production. Our client are one of the largest satellite producers in Europe and are looking for someone who has worked on similar telecoms production projects. Experience using SAP is essential as well as someone that has managed work packages and cost controls.
Our client is continuing to expand production so although offering the role on an initial 12-month contract basis, there is likely the possibility of extension or permanent conversion. The role is based in Portsmouth with 3 days a week expected on site plus 2 remotely across a 37 hour work week. We can pay a rate of £22.67 per hour PAYE or £30 per hour Umbrella.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage the financial health of satellite production projects.
- Monthly reporting to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the local Work Package Managers and Project Managers.
- Review all financially relevant contractual matters.
- Produce monthly financial reporting on project Key Performance Indicators comparing Actuals against Budget and Forecast.
- Capture Cost To Complete (CTC) encompassing labour costs, materials and equipment costs.
- Analysis of project actual costs and correction of mis-bookings.
- Forecasting of project resourcing/manpower requirements by work package.
Skills Required
- Experience of managing project controls or project accounting, ideally within telecoms or Satellites
- Advanced MS Excel literacy.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Strong communication skills – particularly when discussing financial health with non-finance specialists.
- Highly numerate and computer literate.
Desirable Skills
- Experience management accounting role within a project-based environment.
- Another European Language (French / German) would be advantageous.
- Experience in a large, multi-national environment
- Experience of analysing financials in multiple currencies
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
