GSL Education are currently working closely with a lovely school in Portsmouth. This friendly SEMH School is focused strongly on providing support and care for their pupils. The school aims to meet the needs of secondary-aged (11-16) boys and girls who have difficulty managing social interactions, positive relationships and recognising and regulating their emotions. 

Working in a SEMH school can be challenging. We need the right person with the right attitude.

We are looking for a calm, caring and highly motivated individual who is very understanding with challenging behaviour. Experience in a school environment is desirable but work experience that can be adapted is accepted.

This Role includes,

  • Supporting the teaching and learning of SEMH pupils
  • Working closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties
  • Working in classrooms supporting Teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants 
  • Full-time is preferred but part-time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available
  • Hours 8:30am-3:30pm

To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should: 
 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
