GSL Education are currently working with a lovey Primary school situated in the Portsmouth area. This school caters for students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), developmental needs and/ or medical needs. This school are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.

A suitable candidate will have experience working with children who have complex learning difficulties and enjoy making a positive impact.

Job role:

- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and communication skills.

- Working under the guidance of a teacher supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks.

- Creating a supportive and nurturing environment where the needs of all children are met.

- Safeguarding will be your number one priority ensuring the welfare of the pupils.

- Working with KS1 and 2 aged pupils.

Job specification:

- Full time 8:45am – 3:15pm (Mon – Fri)

- £12.82 - £14.72 p/h

- Temporary to permanent contract

- Location: Portsmouth

- Start date: Sep 2nd
