My client is one of the UK's leading financial services consultancies working in the Employee Benefits sector. The manage some of the largest pension schemes in the UK and they are looking to grow their already well-established payroll offering. As such they are keen to hire a talented Payroll leader and duties will include:

  • Leading and overseeing a large payroll function for a range of national clients
  • Effectively managing a significant UK and overseas payroll team (in excess of 100 colleagues) via an experienced team of managers
  • Developing payroll strategies that support the businesses planned growth
  • Identify and drive process and procedural improvements that will align with the wider business objectives
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Lead payroll related projects and monitor and manage budgets
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and legislation etc
  • Analysis of payroll data to provide insights to support decision making

Applicants must possess extensive Payroll experience in a leadership role. Prior experience in a third-party role or from one of the top 4 practices or an organisation with numerous payrolls is key along with an in-depth understanding of Payroll rules and legislation including tax, pensions etc. You will be a seasoned manager (ideally 10 plus colleagues) with the ability to lead a team from the front, building on a positive and coherent working environment. Outstanding communication skills are a pre-requisite along with a keen eye for detail and strong commercial acumen and analysis skills. You must also be comfortable in a client facing environment as this role acts as the main contact point for senior client interaction.
