IT Application Support Engineer

Location: Portsmouth (On-site, 5 days a week)

Salary: Up to £35,000

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Application Support Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of critical applications that support logistics and supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for application-related issues across core systems, including warehouse and transportation management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance system performance and support operational efficiency.
  • Manage system updates, patches, and configurations to maintain secure and efficient applications.
  • Train and support users to ensure they maximize the value of the applications.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience in IT application support, ideally in logistics or a related sector.
  • Familiarity with logistics software such as WMS, TMS, or ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases, operating systems, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

Preferred but Not Essential:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or SaaS solutions.
  • Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of EDI, APIs, or other data integration methods.
