GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate MFL Teacher for a secondary school in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality language education to secondary school students, creating engaging lesson plans, and monitoring student progress. The MFL Teacher will follow the national curriculum and employ a range of teaching methods to ensure effective learning for all students. Collaboration with the Head of Faculty and other staff will be key in maintaining high standards of teaching within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare, and deliver MFL lessons in line with the national curriculum, tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, such as group activities, practical exercises, and digital resources, to engage students in learning.
  •  Regularly assess student progress through homework, assignments, and tests.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, helping to identify strengths and areas for development.
  • Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance the language learning experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop school-wide programs and initiatives that support language learning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Modern Foreign Languages, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching MFL to secondary school students.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods for MFL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Up-to-date DBS check.
