Family Solicitor Opportunity

We are partnering with a law family specialised law firm looking for a family Solicitor in Portsmouth area, providing legal advice to clients on all family matters including, divorce, matrimonial, financial matters and children custody.

Job Title: Family Solicitors

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

Location: Portsmouth, Office based (Parking available)

Job type: Full - time, permanent contract

You will be working directly with the partners and proactively supporting the firm with business development and marketing strategy to maintain relationship with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling caseload on all aspects of private family law clients.
  • Drafting documents for child arrangement orders, financial settlement agreements and separation agreements.
  • Conducting client meetings as needed, including fixed-fee consultations.
  • Coordinating with external experts and professionals (such as Counsel or Mediators) as required.
  • Attending Court or other relevant proceedings when necessary.
  • Drafting necessary legal documents, agreements, or orders.
  • Liaising with professionals involved in dispute resolution processes.
  • Managing client billing in advance of work being performed.
  • Ensuring clients are informed of fee structures and potential future costs.
  • Engaging in business development to attract new clients and maximize cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 1 year PQE;
  • Experience of working in a busy office

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective use of IT skills
  • Proven organisational and administration skills
  • Ability to produce accurate work
  • Knowledge of the legal system
