Production Support Engineer Electrical/Mechanical
Salary:£35,000 - £40,000/annum plus 22.5% shift allowance
Location:Portsmouth
Hours: 39 Hours/week (alternating one week on early shift and one week on late shift)

We are recruiting for a Production Support Engineer Electrical/Mechanical to provide electrical and mechanical expertise and to support to the companys production teams. Providing maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.

Role:
- To provide electrical / mechanical expertise and to support to the Companys Production teams. Providing maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Provide dedicated electrical/mechanical engineering support including the reactive and proactive maintenance for automated and hand assembly production to improve efficiency of equipment.
- Resolve manufacturing issues by providing guidance, performing root cause analysis and implement solutions such as jigs and fixtures or design and process change.
- Undertake basic engineering tasks to facilitate the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, for example, milling/turning and grinding of parts.
- Test performance of equipment in conjunction with departmental setters/operators.
- Work with the production support team to identify improvements for future equipment.
- Develop and manage proactive maintenance programme.
- Reactive maintenance, repair, servicing and general up-keep within anautomated production floor, plating shop and a hand assembly area.
- Regular reviews will be undertaken to measure KPI's relating to the role. Management will monitor work to tasks to ensure they are accomplished effectively and efficientlyin a timely manner
Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician holding C&G 2330 & 2356 NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology (installation or maintenance pathway); or prior formal industry regulated competency-based qualification, which includes technical theory with practical and competency assessments.
- C&G 2382 (IEE Wiring Regulations 18th edition) (D)
- Mechanical manufacturing knowledge / Milling/ Turning / Grinding.
- A good knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and COSHH.
