What You'll Be Doing as a 1:1 Support Assistant:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to students with a variety of SEN needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting behaviour management and encouraging participation through tailored strategies.
  • Adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each learner – academically and emotionally.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • Experience working with children who have SEN, including autism, physical disabilities, and language disorders.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs.
  • A compassionate, adaptable, and patient mindset.
  • Commitment to professional development in SEN practices.
  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

To work with GSL Education as a 1:1 Support Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
