Senior Quantity Surveyor - Potters Bar:

The Shore Group are working with a utilities infrastructure services provider, seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the management and delivery of civil engineering and utility contracts. This role involves overseeing commercial and procurement processes, managing risks, and ensuring contract compliance from project inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of commercial and contract administration for power projects and/or Framework contracts.
  • Subcontractor management, including negotiation, variations, and payments.
  • Tender submissions, cost analysis, and subcontractor evaluations.
  • Contract administration, including valuations, variations, and claims.
  • Monthly cost reporting and CVR preparation.
  • Attending meetings, site visits, and providing commercial support to project teams.
  • Promoting company services and managing contract risks.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in civil engineering and utility contracts.
  • Experience of NEC Option A and JCT forms of contract.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities.
  • Efficient negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and cost control systems (e.g., Evision).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent, not essential).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • CSCS card required.
