Tradewind is looking for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant SEN School in Wirral starting this September!

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant, Location: Wirral, Start Date: SeptemberSalary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage fully in their learning.
  • Use creative approaches to ensure every child can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • One-on-one and small group support.
  • Classroom assistance and behaviour management.
  • Supporting students with personal care, if required.
  • Helping with the planning and execution of educational activities.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting to the teaching staff and parents.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
