About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Support students with personal care needs, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to monitor and assess student progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

To be considered for this position you will: - have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system - Be a committed professional - Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person -Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work) -have satisfactory references -have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained; - Have the legal right to work in the UK.
