Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant - Wirral Area

Start Date: Immediate | Long-Term with Permanent Opportunities

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and supportive SEN school in the Wirral area. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for a permanent contract, offering an exceptional opportunity for personal and professional growth.

This specialist SEN school is committed to providing an inclusive and safe learning environment for students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). As part of your role, you will have access to accredited Team Teach training and Safeguarding courses, empowering you with the skills needed to effectively support students and advance your career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural challenges.

- Assist students with personal care as needed.

- Foster positive relationships with pupils to help them regulate their emotions and build self-esteem.

- Support students who may be behind in their academic work, providing extra assistance to help them succeed.

- Complete progress reports to track student development.

- Handle challenging situations calmly, maintaining a positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

- Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly with children who have SEN.

- A patient, resilient, and empathetic nature.

- Ability to build trust and rapport with young people while maintaining professional boundaries.

- Flexibility to support students both in 1:1 settings and group environments.

- A passion for working with pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

- Immediate availability and commitment to working full-time.
