School Finance Officer

New directions Education are currently recruiting for a school finance office on the Wirral. Relevant school finance experience is essential for this role. DBS is required, but New Directions can process this for you.

Duties and Responsibilities

To assist in the financial administration of income control, preparation of financial returns, internal budgetary control, security and banking of cash

To process and raise requisition orders for goods and purchases using the school's financial management system, ensuring Best Value is achieved and supported by relevant paperwork.

To receipt and reconcile school fund income on a daily / weekly/ monthly basis and assist the Finance Manager in the preparation for submission of annual audit.

To assist in the financial management of arrangements for school visits, assisting visit leaders to ensure visits are budgeted fully and accurately.

Monitor and record collection of money from students and staff within the School Fund Accounts to ensure that any visit is financially viable.

Manage the school online parent communication and payment system to ensure data accuracy, support parent registration and create payment items to allow parents to pay for trips and activities online.

To reconcile petty cash, ensuring VAT compliance at all times and issue payment of petty cash claims to staff on a weekly basis.
