About the Company:A reputable and expanding accountancy practice in Wirral is seeking a motivated Tax Semi-Senior to join their growing tax team. The Role:As a Tax Semi-Senior, you will assist in managing the tax affairs of a varied client portfolio, including personal and corporate tax. You will support senior tax staff and managers, gaining exposure to complex tax issues while developing your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of personal returns for a portfolio of clients.
  • Assisting with tax compliance, including VAT and PAYE matters.
  • Supporting senior tax staff with more complex tax planning and advisory projects.
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolving tax queries.
  • Providing clients with tax advice and support, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Assisting with the preparation of P11Ds and other statutory tax documents.
  • Ensuring that tax work is completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of UK tax regulations and changes.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in tax, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Good knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly to clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with tax software and accounting systems (such as TaxCalc, Xero, or similar).
