About The Role:The main responsibilities of this role is to operate and monitor the Hopper/Stream feeder equipment, presenting quality onserts to the process to ensure smooth output of onserted bundles during live production runs with minimum waste.
This is a full time role with a varied rota of days and night shifts. Shifts begin at 6am and finish at 6pm for days, and 6pm until 6am for night shifts. Please only apply for this role if you can commit to this shift pattern.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Adhere to relevant Health & Safety Requirements
- Line pre-run checks, ensuring the area is clear and tidy
- Be aware which Hoppers/Stream Feeders are in use and which are on standby as backup
- Ensure all guards and safety devices are fitted and in proper use, if not report the issue to TL or LM
- Assist TL's and LM's in set of Hoppers/Stream Feeders and continuously monitor equipment to prevent jam ups
- Load On-serts into Hopper/Stream Feeder using correct manual handling techniques
- Check that there are sufficient quantities of consumable i.e. Onserts and Magazines are available and renew when necessary. Monitor bundle presentation when delivered to Inserting Line
- Collect and re-bundle overflow copy and re-introduce to line in correct format
- Use appropriate reporting systems for faults and feedback to TL's and LM's
- Clear jams and minor faults and ensure all waste is disposed of correctly
- Monitor line performance and adjust where necessary
- Cleaning the finishing lines
- Keep area clean and tidy during and after production
- Completing line reports accurately and legibly (if required)
- Liaise with and support team members and all operational staff
- At a later stage, training in an appropriate secondary skill may be arranged.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

- Ability to work on own initiative
- Basic organisational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
- Mechanical appreciation of equipment and moving parts
- Ability to work safely.
- Flexibility - Ability and a willingness to move between areas (training permitting) to meet the needs of the business
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Basic operational skills.
