We are seeking a dynamic Head of Finance to oversee and manage all financial aspects for the Group function of one of our market-leading clients . This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, leading and mentoring a sizable finance team, and aligning financial strategies with Group objectives. The successful candidate will be a key player in driving business growth through strategic financial insights and robust financial management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead a finance team of 19, including 5 direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Prepare the Group’s financial statements in line with the periodic timetable and produce insightful board presentations including variance analysis.
  • Manage effective cash forecasting, FX planning, and oversee the preparation of annual budgets and financial planning schedules.
  • Own the Group’s statutory accounts, tax filings, and audit processes, ensuring compliance with global statutory, tax, and financial reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate full balance sheet reviews and reconciliations periodically.
  • Identify and manage financial and operational risks, advising on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisers, legal advisers, banks, lenders, and insurance brokers.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and promote business growth.
  • Appraise investment cases for new business and review contracts.
  • Enhance the Group’s ERP system and reporting tools to improve performance reporting quality.
  • Develop and implement enhanced financial controls and ensure best practices in account preparation and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead financial projects on critical business initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership position within finance.
  • Extensive technical skills with a detailed understanding of accounting principles, regulations, statutory reporting, and tax obligations.
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in a multinational company and/or with multi-currencies is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information effectively.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to critique processes and implement improvements.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable to change, and able to build productive relationships at all levels.
