Simpson Judge are partnering with an SME in Lancashire, easily commutable from Bolton, Bury, Preston, Blackburn or Chorley, to recruit a dynamic Financial Controller. This is a very broad role and will sit as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Managing Director, with a dotted line to the Group CFO, the ideal candidate will be ACA/ACA/CIMA Qualified, with experience in Group reporting.
This would be an ideal step up for an ambitious Finance Manager or someone already operating as Financial Controller.
Salary: £55,000-£65,000
Full time on site initially, with some home working on offer
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day finance function, including transactional finance and payroll
- Producing monthly management accounts to Group within strict deadlines, including P&L and balance sheet
- Producing all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Production of budgets, 12-week cash flow forecasting and cash management and reporting weekly cashflow forecast to Group. Managing short-term cash requirements via working capital management & cash flow forecasting
- Producing insightful Management Information, including detailed financial analysis and KPIs to support decision making and strategy
- Financial responsibility for overseas business, including liaising with auditors
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with finance and board level decision making
- Producing internal monthly reporting packs and challenge performance where necessary
- Act as the financial lead for any company or Group projects that arise
- Producing all statutory returns including VAT, PAYE and ONS
- Overseeing commercial contracts, FX purchasing and stock checks and supporting with financial management of stock holding and recovery
- Ensuring a robust control environment to comply with SOX requirements and control testing
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- Experience with reporting to a Group within an international scope is an advantage
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar financial leadership role within a manufacturing industry for both a small & large sized business
- Knowledge of Sage 50/200 accounting packages essential
- MS Dynamics, SAP or Oracle experience would be beneficial
