Our client is a well-established civil engineering and building contractor operating across the North West. They deliver high-quality projects across a range of sectors. Their expertise spans all aspects of groundworks, from deep drainage and earthworks to external hard landscaping, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
They are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering and building projects. You will ensure the smooth operation of site activities, manage teams, liaise with stakeholders, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage all aspects of groundworks, including deep drainage, substructures, and external hard landscaping.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
- Supervise site teams, including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and implement solutions to avoid delays.
- Ensure the availability of materials, plant, and labour resources to maintain project timelines.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure all site activities align with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with commercial teams to manage costs, procurement, and contract administration.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager in the civil engineering or construction sector, with a strong background in groundworks.
- Civil Engineering/Construction Qualification
- Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS card, First Aid, and a valid UK driving licence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong understanding of groundworks, deep drainage, earthworks, and external hard landscaping.
