Service Engineering Manager

Adecco Preston are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Engineering Manager to lead and manage a team of electrical/mechanical Service Engineers. The successful candidate will oversee and organise the installation, servicing, and repair of captial equipmant ensuring high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Service Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the scheduling and allocation of service tasks, ensuring timely and efficient completion of all work.
- Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of installations, servicing, and repairs, maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and problem-solving assistance to the team, particularly in complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Training and Development: Coordinate and deliver training programs for Service Engineers, including product training at the Preston based manufacturing site
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to Health & Safety procedures, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
- Customer Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the accurate documentation of service visits, including breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Resource Management: Manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring availability and good working order.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar field.
- Background in electrical and mechanical engineering is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to assist and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- High level of customer service and communication skills.
- Full driving licence is essential.
