TXM Are excited to announce an opportunity working as a Workshop manager in Preston on a fulltime basis.

The purpose of this role will be to support and oversee the engineering performance at the deport including health and safety, fleet planning and overall maintenance within the depot. This role will also require you to ensure standards and policies are followed throughout the day to keep the work up to company standards and legal standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the depot engineering team in accordance with client policies, standard operating procedures and all relevant legislation
  • Work with the Training function to ensure that engineering teams are competently trained, and to achieve agreed establishment requirements
  • Support the induction and development of an engaged, talented and high performing engineering team, nurturing an innovative and continuous improvement culture
  • Conduct any disciplinary, grievance or absence management reviews in accordance with Company policy
  • In line with standard policies and procedures, plan and manage the maintenance and servicing of the fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with all manufacturer and statutory regulations
  • Work alongside the Stores Person to ensure optimum management of stock, including accurate and timely processing of warranty claims and Stock Queries.
  • Maintain depot plant and equipment, ensuing all external contract maintenance is carried out in line with contractual agreements
  • Maintain accurate records for all aspects of engineering standards and performance, including fleet and environmental management

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Engineering background.
  • Knowledge of employment, Safety and Environmental legislation. a professional qualification would be desirable or equivalent company recognised qualification. Training must be undertaken, and requisite results achieved within agreed timeframes.
  • Engagement skills with motivational qualities as a prerequisite, perpetuating an environment of trust and confidence with your colleagues.
  • Strong people management abilities.
  • An ability to challenge employees through motivational engagement
  • Computer skills with essential organisational aptitude
