A Senior Electrical Engineer is required to join a Chartered Building Services Engineering Consultancy in Preston. Renowned for its expertise in Healthcare, Education, and Industrial projects, this opportunity represents the next phase of strategic growth for the largest team of Building Services design engineers in Preston.

The role of a Senior Electrical Engineer within this business requires an individual who is confident in leading the Electrical elements of Building Services projects, assisting in team organization, engaging with clients, and developing designs through RIBA Stages 1-5. The company specializes in detailed design phases and is well-regarded for its reliability and high-quality service across multiple sectors.

The Role

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of engineering projects, covering both new builds and refurbishments, primarily across the North West of England, including Preston, Lancaster, and Carlisle. Responsibilities will include designing electrical systems for hospitals, student accommodation, university buildings, council projects, and new office developments, ensuring a broad and engaging variety of experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a contractor or consultancy setting, within commutable distance to Preston.
• Capability to attend the office at least three days a week.
• Proficiency in Revit would be a distinct advantage, as the company is progressively moving towards full BIM capability.
• ONC/HNC qualifications as a minimum, but ideally a degree and CIBSE membership, with Chartership achieved or in progress.
• Hands-on experience in electrical installation or maintenance roles (such as an electrician in relevant sectors) would be beneficial but not essential.
