Role Overview
My client is seeking a skilled and qualified Domestic Electrician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in installing, upgrading, and maintaining electrical systems in domestic properties as part of retrofit projects. You will ensure that all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical systems in domestic properties, including wiring, sockets, lighting and fans.
- Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and certification to ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Upgrade electrical systems to accommodate energy-efficient installations (e.g., heat pumps, solar panels).
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in existing systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to deliver retrofit projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure all work adheres to health and safety standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection and Testing qualification.
- Experience working on domestic electrical installations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and renewable energy systems (e.g., EV charging points, solar PV) is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Full UK driving license.
