Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful PE backed business in Preston to recruit an ambitious Commercial Finance Manager.This is a fantastic role which will involve acting as a strategic partner to the business, providing meaningful insights, driving financial performance and challenge to inform decision making and achieve financial objectives. Ensuring that cost efficiency and a cost-conscious culture is a key focus for the business unit’s leadership team.Responsibilities include:
  • Partner with business leadership team to instil a performance management culture including driving the performance debate in Review meetings and ensuring that risks, issues and opportunities are identified early, and interventions/action plans are agreed.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop financial plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business performance.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Deliver and interpret accurate and timely weekly / Monthly P&L's
  • Ensuring that actual costs are recovered within reported contracts and that variances are identified, analysed for trends etc.
  • Cost analysis and assisting with monthly cost reports, and Weekly Cost & Value Reporting (CVR).
  • WIP reporting
  • Provision of detailed KPI reports for the site, review of KPI data with operations to identify performance and process improvement opportunities.
  • Challenge managers constructively to deliver business objectives.
  • Hands on management of a current team of 4: delivering mentorship, allocation of workload and reviewing.
Candidate requirements:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA member, with post qualified experience.
  • Strong financial and business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels with proven track record of challenging and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading teams
  • Able to move at pace, to proactively identify and drive creative solutions and remove barriers where necessary.
