Job Purpose

Asopion are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Print Assistant to support a Lancashire based client in their  printing and operations department. The ideal candidate will have experience in flexographic printing, though candidates with a strong background in other printing methods will also be considered. This role involves assisting with the preparation, operation, and maintenance of printing presses, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and operation of flexographic printing presses.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for printing, including inks, plates, and substrates.
  • Monitor the printing process to ensure quality control standards are met, including checking for colour accuracy, registration, and print clarity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the printing process.
  • Maintain and clean printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet tight deadlines and production targets.
  • Handle materials and finished products with care, ensuring they are stored and transported properly.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in flexographic printing is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with other printing techniques (e.g., digital, offset) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for operating printing software and equipment controls.

Shift patterns 2 week 4 shifts days and alternate  nights.
