Our client is a leading charity and they are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive HR Assistant to join their dedicated team. As an HR Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting their Head of People and Culture in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their HR department. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, disciplinary procedures, policy development, and general HR administration.

Duties

Recruitment Support: Assist in drafting job descriptions, posting job adverts, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating a smooth and efficient recruitment process.

Onboarding & Offboarding: Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees, handling all relevant paperwork, supporting the induction process and ongoing support during their probationary period. Manage the exit process for departing employees.

Employee Relations: Assist in managing employee relations, including supporting disciplinary procedures, handling grievances, and documenting employee performance issues.

Compliance & Legal: Ensure the organisation remains compliant with employment law and internal policies. Assist in updating HR policies and procedures when necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in an HR role (HR administration, coordination, or generalist experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, policies, and UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software or similar software
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
