HR Officer (Public Sector)

We are seeking an HR Officer to work closely with the Estates & Facilities Management Programme Manager and other support functions. This role is crucial in managing the People processes and ensuring that all HR matters connected to Estates Capital Projects are handled efficiently and in compliance with legislation and policy.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact for all HR matters related to the Estates & Facilities department, collaborating with the wider HR, Vetting & Contracts teams.
  • Act as the HR Expert, supporting Line Managers with ER related issues.
  • Monitor the Workforce Plan for each Estates Capital Scheme, taking action and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Work with internal stakeholders such as the Vetting Department and HR Recruitment to expedite pre-employment and vetting checks, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Oversee the issuance and return of ID badges and associated equipment, coordinating closely with the HR Recruitment team.
  • Assist with departmental governance by ensuring that contractors are appropriately vetted and competent, and that risk assessments are completed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HR management.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, procedures and compliance.
  • CIPD Level 5 or working towards.
