Macmillan Davies have been retained by a Lancashire based business who are experts in the distribution and manufacture of specialist engineering components. This highly successful business continues to grow rapidly by acquisition and has the backing of a FTSE 100 plc. I am delighted to be supporting the Group People Director to attract an experienced HR Administrator to join their supportive and collaborative team based in the Preston area.

This is an integral role within the People team and is responsible for the administration of the full end-to-end employee life cycle. Working on a hybrid basis (ideally 3-4 days in the office), the role requires an individual who is a competent in HR Administration and comfortable working with high levels of autonomy. This is an ideal opportunity for a HR generalist looking to develop and progress in their career by being exposed to a variety of people focused duties. There will also be an opportunity to support on wider projects within the HR team.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of the HR team to undertake any administrative duties to support across the full employee life cycle
  • Respond to HR queries via telephone, email and in person
  • Recruitment administration including creating and posting job advertisements and descriptions.
  • Manage the onboarding process by preparing offer letters and contracts, verifying work eligibility, and supporting managers with induction planning.
  • Maintain and utilise the HR Information System
  • Facilitate the integration of new employees into the business
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development Manager to update the LMS and handle training administration

Experience required:

  • Relevant HR Administration/Generalist experience and working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Ideally qualified to CIPD Level 3
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and navigate a busy work load independently
  • Strong communication skills, confident and personable approach
  • Proactive and positive attitude, takes pride in your work
