Snr Quality Engineer

£45,000 - £55,000

Our client is part of a prestigious global engineering group and are considered as the market leader in the design, development and manufacture of precision machined components for the automotive industry. They are very established with a significant customer base and have grown year on year for the last 20 years, with some significant orders ahead for 2024.

Job Purpose: To lead the quality department, focusing more on the "hands-on" day to day quality including process improvement, supplier development and root cause-analysis etc. Excellent opportunity to progress quickly, with great potential to become the Quality Manager in a short period due to retirees.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Root Cause Analysis and implementing Corrective actions.
  • Quality Management System (ISO9001 and ISO14001, IATF16949)
  • Automotive not essential, could be from a similar industry with high stabdards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting (Good IT skills, especially Excel, Ability to create Reports and PowerPoint presentations)
  • New Product Introduction (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, PSW, etc.)
  • Leadership of an inspection team
  • Prioritising inspection tasks to support production requirements
  • Internal and External Process Audits
  • Customer Management
  • External Audit Compliance and Documentation

Person Requirement:

  • Good Technical Education to HNC/HND/Degree level complemented by a good practical skill base.
  • excellent knowledge of machined components and machining processes.
  • Experience working with high standards such as ISO/TS1694, IATF1694 or AS9100.
  • Good Practical Engineering skills and approach
  • Sound understanding of lean thinking, tools and application.
