Client Details

Currently working with a growing Food Manufacturer, located in Lancashire, as they look to hire a Production Manager . The business have been experiencing significant growth, having a T/O of £25 million+, and recently investment in their Lancashire operation as they look to further develop and expand their operations. Key to the success of the role will be helping to modernise production operation, lead and develop their production team (2 direct reports, 24+ overall) and work closely with the SLT function to support with business growth. A typical week for the successful candidate will be circa. 40 hours straddling a 2 shift pattern.

Description

The Production Manager's responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director and board, this role will have overall responsibility for the running of the prep room.
  • Managing Labour and Production Plans across the site
  • Stock management - ensuring correct stock levels for both day and night shifts is business critical.
  • Drive a recent ERP implementation on-site to improve both usage and consequent efficiencies which can come off the back of this
  • Training of supervisors and staff.
  • Providing management information on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Implementing processes and procedures, then making sure staff are adhering to them.
  • Leading the audit for the prep room.
  • Working with the procurement team on direct and in-direct stock.
  • Dealing with other external stakeholders such as the engineers or electricians.
  • Managing up to the Operations and Managing Director's.

Profile

Ideally, the successful candidate for the Production Manager role will have the following background:

  • Previous experience running a production operation of a similar scale.
  • The ability to demonstrate your operational strategy and capabilities.
  • To be highly organized.
  • To be a pro-active person who identifies issues before they arise.
  • Passionate about training and mentoring staff. We like to promote internally where possible.
  • Experience working in FMCG, ideally in food manufacturing and under BRC or a similar standard.
  • Experience with HACCP would be beneficial.
