- Perform calibration and verification of dimensional measuring instruments, including dial gauges, gauge blocks, micrometers, and screw gauges.
- Ensure accurate and traceable calibration in compliance with UKAS accreditation and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed calibration records and ensure documentation meets audit requirements.
- Identify and troubleshoot calibration issues, providing technical solutions where necessary.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration processes.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites to provide on-site calibration services.
- HNC/BTEC Higher (Mechanical or Production Engineering) preferred.
- Older applicants with City & Guilds or ONC qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
- Extensive experience within a dimensional calibration laboratory, ideally within a UKAS-accredited environment.
- Strong technical and practical skills, with an interest in problem-solving and continuous learning.
- A methodical and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Excellent handwriting and documentation skills for accurate record-keeping.
- A strong work ethic, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving license (advantageous but not essential).
- Some in-house training will be provided.
- This role requires previous calibration experience.Â
