Support Worker

Are you a Support Worker in Preston looking for a full-time position starting January 2025!

Tradewind Preston is working in partnership with a 'Good' Alternative Provision within Preston to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant/ Support Worker/ Youth Worker to work within the schools pastoral team. The school are offering two positions with a full year contract.

You will be working with the pastoral team working across the school with all different year groups ranging from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.

The most recent OFSTED graded the school as 'Good'. At the Alternative Provision they aim to ensure that they give them the necessary support to improve their confidence, self-esteem and enable them to become successful learners in school and prepared for their future working lives.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 6 months experience working in an Alternative Provision environment or have worked extensively with learners with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs).

The school is located within Preston which is accessible by car with close motorway links with a large free car parking and easily accessible via public transport

We are looking for:* Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques* Teaching Assistant Level or Degree Qualified* Support Worker/ Youth Worker * Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour* Experience with supporting SEMH* Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
