Behaviour Support Worker

Behaviour Support - Preston:

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an experienced behaviour support worker/pastoral mentor to join a lovely school near to Preston. This role is to start after Easter and will be until July 2025.

Although school experience is preferred, any pastoral/mental health support work is helpful for this position.

The Role:

• Providing 1-1 support to pupils with behavioural difficulties
• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies
• Supporting pupils with their emotional and mental health needs
• Working closely with the class teachers and other professionals to create a positive learning environment
• Promoting life skills

Position Details:

• Location: Preston
• Position: Behaviour Support Mentor
• Hours: 8:15am-3:15pm
• Type of Work: Temporary
• Full time/Part time: Full time only
• Minimum Rate of Pay: 100 per day, depending on experience
• Start date: After Easter
• End date: July 2025

Experience, Training & Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• A flexible and genuine approach to work
• A genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Previous experience working within a similar position would be highly desirable
• Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desirable but training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references
