Reed/LTA are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support three children with special educational needs (SEN). This will be based in a primary school based in Preston and is a full-time role from 8:45am to 3:25 pm and is to start ASAP. The children are in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. This role requires a compassionate individual with a passion for SEN, ready to make a significant impact on our students’ educational journey.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to three children with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Work closely with the children both inside and outside the classroom, facilitating their learning and social integration.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support the children’s educational and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor the children’s progress and adapt plans as necessary.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment that allows the children to thrive and achieve their potential.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of activities that are engaging and accessible for the children.
  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in the children through positive reinforcement and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • A strong passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, children, and parents.
  • Patience, understanding, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A proactive and creative approach to teaching and supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are highly desirable.
