Job Description:

A local school in Blackburn is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Level 2 qualified candidate to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of students with special educational needs, ensuring each child's needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility as required.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting children's needs.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
