Prospero Teaching are working exclusively with a small mild to moderate SEMH school in Preston who are seeking a qualified teacher of Maths to support their learners. The position is to start in September and will be on-going.

This is an independent school that caters to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. They offer personalised, effective, and inclusive education to students who have faced difficulties in traditional educational settings and require a more vocational pathway to achieve success in adulthood.

The hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm (term time only)

You must have qualified teacher status and an enhanced DBS on the update system (can apply through Prospero if required) to be considered.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Mathematics (however, it is not essential that it is Maths related)
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Maths
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80
  • Provide a minimum of two professional references
