Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take on exciting rail infrastructure projects? We're working with a leading rail contractor in Prestwick to find a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor. This is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects, ensuring cost efficiency, and contributing to the growth of a respected industry leader. Role Overview:As Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the financial and contractual aspects of rail infrastructure projects, from initial estimation through to final accounts. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you'll ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for rail infrastructure projects. - Manage and monitor project costs, identifying and addressing variances proactively. - Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. - Conduct regular financial reviews and provide detailed progress reports. - Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring profitability and value for money. - Liaise with project managers and site teams to maintain strong communication and collaboration. - Prepare and manage final accounts, ensuring timely resolution of claims and disputes. Requirements:- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. - Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the rail or civil engineering sector. - Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes. - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. - A thorough understanding of commercial and financial regulations in construction.
