Senior Technical Design Manager - Residential - Cornwall.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Architect, Technical Manager or Senior Technical Manager who is looking for a new challenge/ progression with a high-specification developer. The successful applicant experience of multiple aspects within the design process from start to finish, working for a well-established regional developer.

About the Company

A reputable housing developer who build good quality developments across cornwall and South Devon, who take pride in progressing their own staff members, they are a close-knit team who work together well and offer a supportive dynamic working environment. This is a great opportunity to work with a luxury house builder who excel in delivering a great company culture. You will be working within a team of Land Buyers, Development Managers, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors. Due to a strong pipeline, our client needs an individual with strong experience within housing and new build residential schemes.

The Role

You will be responsible for the technical information when planning a project, which could include requirements from the client, building regulations and site surveys. You will be required to assist with the preparation and development of submissions to regulatory bodies such as planning applications, and you will provide technical support to the architect and project team. You will also contribute to the detailed design process and will coordinate this information carrying out risk assessments and feasibility studies as well as producing work drawings.

Along with being involved in the design detail, this position also gives you the opportunity to liaise and coordinate external consultants. You will be working alongside the in house construction and design team on live sites and oversee schemes from a technical viewpoint, issuing and coordinating technical information, being the first port of call with any technical queries.

Required Skills

  • Leadership skills and a willingness to take responsibility;
  • Good communication skills, as interaction with other professionals, authorities and clients occurs frequently;
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
  • A logical and practical approach as well as an ability to solve problems;
  • An eye for detail and design, and the ability to visualise objects in three dimensions (3D);
  • Planning and organisation skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

Essential

  • Degree qualified is preferable but not essential, we would also consider applicants from a construction HND/HNC backgrounds or a equivilent relvent qualification to at least a level 5.

  • Must have UK construction or design experience
  • Unfortunatley for this level role the hiring business can't offer Visa support so we would require you to be able to live and work in the UK with out sponsership.
