About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a motivated Conveyancing Assistant to join a thriving, forward-thinking law firm in the heart of Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen your skills and excel in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Caseload Support:

  • Assist in managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages under the supervision of a senior conveyancer or solicitor.
  • Prepare files for exchange and completion, ensuring all legal documents are organised and deadlines are met.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing routine legal documents such as contracts, transfers, and completion statements.
  • Support the team in gathering necessary documentation to facilitate transactions.

Client and Third-Party Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to ensure smooth progress of transactions.
  • Handle routine client enquiries, providing updates on transaction progress and escalating complex issues to senior team members.
  • Keep all parties informed of key developments and timelines, ensuring effective communication throughout the process.

File and Compliance Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in compliance with legal, regulatory, and firm standards.
  • Assist in the review of title deeds, searches, and mortgage offers to support due diligence efforts.
  • Ensure that all required documents are correctly filed and prepared for the next stage of the process.

Administrative and Technical Support:

  • Provide administrative support to senior team members, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and managing correspondence.
  • Utilise conveyancing software to manage tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of transactions.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
