Overview:
Our team is expanding, and we are on the hunt for an experienced Facilities Support Technician to maintain and enhance the operations of our West Sussex facilities. This role requires a blend of technical aptitude and hands-on maintenance skills, ensuring that all facilities are safe, secure, and fully operational. A driving licence and personal vehicle are critical to manage travel between various sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative & Routine Maintenance:
    • Conduct PPM tasks on essential equipment (generators, compressors, HVAC, air quality systems).
    • Perform regular safety inspections covering fire safety, emergency systems, and site security.
  • Maintenance & Repair:
    • Assist with minor repairs including plumbing fixes, electrical work (e.g., light fittings, plug installations), painting, and tiling.
    • Maintain the Facilities Service Request Log, coordinating DIY tasks and contractor interventions as needed.
  • Supervision & Administration:
    • Greet and oversee visiting contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and RAMS.
    • Order parts, carry out monthly meter readings, and manage waste collection logistics.
  • Emergency and Project Assistance:
    • Respond to urgent issues (e.g., water leaks, power failures) to secure sites and mitigate risks.
    • Support larger maintenance projects in collaboration with the Facilities Manager and other teams.

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in facilities maintenance with a comprehensive understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to manage small building projects and work well under pressure.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Must be physically capable of handling manual tasks, including lifting and working at height.
  • Essential: A valid driving licence and personal vehicle are required for travel between sites.
