Technical Bid Manager - Salary c£50-80K DOE + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Based: Sussex

We are searching for a Technical Sales Manager with an engineering background, (ideally mechanical engineering) for our market leading Client.

Suitable candidates will have gravitas and first-class communication skills to be equipped to manage large value and long life-cycle solution sales processes. From Bid Completion to final delivery, you will be involved in ensuring the process runs smoothly and maintaining strong relationships throughout the process.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the sales process from initial enquiry to purchase order.
  • Attend key customer visits to build and develop strong business relationships
  • Represent our client at trade Shows, exhibitions and seminars to promote the group.
  • Products are bespoke, each sale can be a long and complicated tender process
  • Reach the correct engineering solution at the right price
  • Become an integral part of the project team providing a high standard of technical and sales expertise
  • Handle customer relationships at all levels ensuring strong and focused relationships with clear communication and be a "go to" point of contact
  • Develop sales opportunities through goal-oriented approach and superior sales approach
  • Use market intelligence to find and develop leads
  • Liaise with internal teams to develop the best solution for the best prices for the customer
  • Negotiate the sale and commercial terms, legal experience here would be advantageous
  • Travel internationally to develop and maintain client relationships

Candidate Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Business or Engineering discipline would be ideal with minimum of 5 years within an engineering manufacturing firm
  • Experience managing the sales process for big ticket multi-million-pound projects
  • Relevant Sales Management experience, ideally within the engineering sector
  • Strong attention to detail and task orientated with excellent organisational skill and communication skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Commercial bias and focus with sound commercial skills
  • Ability to learn about other areas of the business and apply that knowledge into your role
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft office
  • Ability to undertake extensive international travel
