Location - Company site in Pulborough (Nationwide and International Travel Required in the second year)

About the Field Service Engineer Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our Service Engineering Department. This role focuses on final testing, commissioning, and servicing of specialized high-tech manufacturing equipment. Your work will be pivotal in supporting customers by ensuring optimal performance of both new and existing systems.

Key Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Conduct installation, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on high-temperature and chemical processing systems at customer sites worldwide.
  • Perform final test procedures, debugging, and factory testing of equipment before shipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software system issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and uphold safety and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills & Experience of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies, machine control systems (PLC and PC-based), and PCB fault-finding.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment, vacuum components, chemical fluid handling, and gas delivery systems is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a field service or final testing role, with a solid understanding of electro-mechanical systems.

Requirements for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Good qualification in an electro-mechanical or related discipline.
  • Full driving license and the ability to travel extensively with no restrictions.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adept at managing tight schedules.
